Este libro reúne una selección de publicaciones 'fotolibros y revistas, junto con otros documentos relacionados' que dan muestra de la gran eclosión de la tipografía, el fotomontaje y el fotolibro en la Unión Soviética durante el periodo comprendido entre 1913 y 1941. El arte aplicado a la producción de libros y revistas alcanzó su máximo esplendor con las vanguardias de comienzos del siglo XX y cobró especial relevancia en la Unión Soviética, como queda patente en este espectacular volumen. Todo ello, gracias al auge de corrientes artísticas como el suprematismo y el constructivismo, y también por la alianza entre artistas y diseñadores gráficos rusos, y sus estrechas conexiones con el ámbito poético-literario. El volumen, que reproduce primorosamente una ingente cantidad de documentos, coincide con la exposición homónima que acoge el Círculo de Bellas Artes de Madrid. Todo el material que se incluye en la exposición y el catálogo "Vanguardia y propaganda" procede del Archivo Lafuente, cuya amplia colección de vanguardia rusa y realismo soviético cuenta con más de 1.300 piezas.
